Making medicines and medical devices safer

Campaign material

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is committed to improving patient safety and strategically runs regular specific public health campaigns to raise awareness of patient safety in healthcare products and the importance of reporting to the Yellow Card scheme.

In addition to the general resources, we have specific materials for set dates in year that support annual patient safety awareness raising campaigns. This means that at certain times of the year or based on a particular product or subject there are specific resources you can use to promote the event or product.

Annual awareness raising days

World Patient Safety Day - 17 September

Held on 17 September it is one of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) global health days. The MHRA supports this day through various communications and partners can use our general Yellow Card scheme resources to support their communications.

Medical products #FakeMeds campaign

The #FakeMeds campaign aims to provide quick and easy tools to help the public spot and avoid fake medical products when shopping online. With the increased health risk of fake healthcare products on the market today we can all play our part in sharing how to be safer when buying online.

The campaign also provides essential advice on reporting suspected fake products through the Yellow Card scheme. There are downloadable resources you can use to spread the word.
